Saint Lucia Makes Waves at CARIFTA Aquatics Championships with 14-Medal Haul

aint Lucia delivered a powerful and inspiring performance at the recently concluded CARIFTA Aquatics Championships, showcasing the island’s growing strength in competitive swimming and reaffirming its place among the Caribbean’s rising aquatic nations.

Competing against 20 countries from across the region, Team Saint Lucia amassed an impressive 14 medals, finishing with 156 points to secure 12th place overall a commendable achievement given the depth and competitiveness of the field.

Saint Lucia’s swimmers demonstrated consistency, versatility and determination across multiple disciplines, ending the championships with:

  • 6 Gold Medals
  • 6 Silver Medals
  • 2 Bronze Medals

Leading the charge was standout swimmer Sapphire Parks, whose performances defined Saint Lucia’s campaign. Parks captured an extraordinary 10 of the country’s 14 medals, including:

  • Gold (5): 200m Breaststroke, 100m Butterfly, 400m Individual Medley, 200m Butterfly, 100m Breaststroke
  • Silver (4): 50m Butterfly, 100m Backstroke, 200m Individual Medley, 200m Backstroke
  • Bronze (1): 50m Backstroke

Her dominance earned her the prestigious title of High Point Champion in the Girls 11–12 category, accumulating an outstanding 88 points, a testament to her versatility and elite conditioning across strokes.
